Can dance floors be used outdoors?

Written by Rob Silverman

Our dance floor should not be used outdoors unless it is underneath a tent and out of direct sunlight. If you are renting a tent from a tent company, be sure they provide you with a sub-floor to place underneath our dance floor to be assembled upon.

Our dance floors cannot be installed on the following surfaces:

  • Astroturf
  • Cardboard
  • Carpet more than ¼" thick
  • Cobblestone
  • Driveways
  • Existing Dance Floor (installed over an existing dance floor)
  • Foam Rubber Floors
  • Glass Racks
  • Grass
  • Gravel
  • Mud
  • Mulch
  • Pallets
  • Plastic Surfaces
  • Portable event plastic floors
  • Sand
  • Tables
  • Temporary Plywood Sections
  • Tile Floors
  • Uneven Surfaces

Please note that all dance floor sections are equipped with metal struts. These struts can cause scratches to the surface if not protected by a liner (floors such as Marble or Hardwood).
